Celebrate with us the Jewish holidays
Purim – the Feast of Joy
With colourful costumes and lively celebrations we still remember this joyful day which commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people from imminent danger in the Persian diaspora. According to the Book of Esther, Haman, who was the highest government official of the Persian King, tried to wipe out all Jews in the Persian Empire in one day. It was the diplomatic skills of Queen Esther, the King’s Jewish wife, that brought their salvation. Celebrate this day with us and come in fancy dress!

Pessach / Easter – the Exodus from Egypt
Celebrate Pessach with us by enjoying a typical Easter menu in the Jewish manner. The question will be asked: “Why is this night different from other nights?” The answer will be given by a Rabbi, who will accompany us on our way to the Promised Land, on our way to freedom, to the place where “milk and honey flow”. Hanukkah – the Festival of Lights
Celebrate with us “Weihnukka” – a mixture of “Hanukkah” and “Weihnachten”. Enjoy the traditional Christmas goose and sweet doughnuts. The Hanukkah feast is a reminder of the successful rebellion of the Maccabees against Syrian rule. An oil jug was found the contents of which would keep the seven-armed temple candelabra alight for only one day. But by a miracle this small amount is said to have sufficed for eight days, so that in the meantime new, pure oil could be produced. In memory of this miracle, both in the synagogue and at home the candles on an eight-armed candelabra (Menora) are lit.
